Use the advanced search at tropica to look for high light fast growers(this will usually get you a variety of tall stem plants). They have pics and profiles on a lot of aquarium plants. One of my favs is rotala rotundifola. You could probably get away with most foreground plants in that much light. I'm sure that Echinodorus tenellus would do well for you, but there are others too. You could probably try some glosso if you like the looks.

The only thing that seems to be holding you back from getting any plant you want is some sort of carbon dosing. Most do this in the form of CO2. I've had moderate success with DIY yeast, but I'm really enjoying the ease of the pressurized CO2 right now.

I was doing some looking into DIY today. In the past I have used Flurish Exell but I know thats not the same thing as CO2. For the time being I want to stay relitivly cheap. This school thing is getting pricey.

I understand the school costs - that's why I used to go DIY. I ended up saving what I could to get the pressurized system and I'm glad I did, so are my plants. If you are going to try to go the DIY route, make sure you get an efficient reactor/diffuser, I'd suggest the reactor - external if you have a cannister filter. One of those will increase the effectiveness of any CO2 setup, but with DIY you want all the help(and co2) you can get.

I am running right now with a HOB filter. It is actualy pumping quite a bit of current throughout the tank. Do you happen to have any pictures of your DIY set up? Also what what DIY stand for?

DIY = Do It Yourself

I don't have any pics of the old DIY setup, but [link=this]http://www.petfish.net/co2.htm" style="COLOR: #FFD700[/link] is a good site on a DIY set up(just pay attention to the assembly part) and [link=this]http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/diy_reactor.htm" style="COLOR: #FFD700[/link] is a good site od CO2 reactors.

What about using just an air stone or an air stone to a diffuson bell? I do not have a power head but a HOB filter. Could I set it up so the bubbles go into the filter and run into the tank? Maybe?? All this stuff is new and crazy to me. I guess I wll have to keep researching and start messing around. Thanks for your help so far!
