I have offically joined the ranks of the co2 pressurized community. Here's a pic:

tetratech attached this image:

I have about 1 bubble per second going right now (thanks Bensaf). My only other question is do I start right away with the EI method. The tank will probably go through some sort of cycle although I did use a biostarter and some gravel from another tank. The water has been filtered for about 5 days.

Yeah tetratech,

Looks very nice, what a shiny CO2 tank.

I am not Bensaf, but I dare to say "Yes, Start the EI now".

You will be ok,

Sweet

Yep start right away. No reason not, make sure evrything is the water column for the plants to suck which they nicely with the new system.

Thanks guys,

Still using my ladder diffusor from the hagen kit, I'm going to change that shortly. I tried putting the co2 tubing right into the intake, but my eheim cansister sounded like it was choking.

I still have the light issue, 2 or 4wpg. The thank right now is moderately planted. My gut tells me to run the 2wpg about 11 hours and overlap with 4wpg for about 7 hours.

Any thoughts?

That's just the Co2 bubbles bouncing around. Annoying but nothing to worry about. Can kive with it until you get the reactor.

With the plants you have 2 wpg will be fine, especially if it's PC lighting.

Should probably tell you I picked up some Rotala Indica and dwarf hairgrass. Think I'm still o.k. 2wpg with 18 inch high tank.

One other think, my light is 3 inches above glass canopy, does that lesson the wpg intensity.

New plants too

Yeah the hairgrass in particular may appreciate the extra light. Just keep up on the dosing - more light = more nutrients needed. Don't be stingy with them.

Basically you just want to keep nutrients available for the plants, and this is a good method of doing this. Read away.

Pack the tank with weeds!!!

That is the most over looked issue with new tanks.
Do not wait for things to grow in.

There is no need to cycle if you add enough plants or/and add the mulm from a previously established filter sponge or gravel.

Tom Barr

Thanks Tom,

Yes, I'm going to do that even if it isn't the look I"m going for. I'll just regroup, shift and remove plants slowly until the tank is established.
