I purchased two of this particular plant from Petsmart last weekend, the tag merely said Green and White Grass, and that it was a low light plant. They were inexpensive - so I added them to the mondo grass and corkscrew Vallisneria.

You can see photos here:

When I purchased it this past weekend, it stood maybe 7 inches at the highest part. Whatever it is, appears to be quite happy as it's nearly doubled in size already. I'm interested in finding out what it is, so I may be able to figure out how it propogates. One plant in particular looks as if it'll evenetually spread into 3, I'd just like to read up on it ahead of time if I'm able.

Thank you for your help!

It's Japanese Variegated Rush.

Bad news is it's a terranium plant not a true aquatic. It will last a few weeks or months and then die off. It can't last long fully submerged.

Unfortunately the same is true of the Mondo Grass. It too will die in the aquarium.

Sorry

Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.

I had a feeling that was the case. No prob, will get them moved out and into something more appropriate. They're pretty fast growing in the tank though, my goodness!

I think I remember reading that about the Mondo Grass, it wasn't labelled at the store and I wasn't sure what it was until I got home and checked.

Thank you!
