The lowest maitenance plant would be an artificial one! With a 1 gallon, you'll be changing the water quite often. You could try a Java fern, which doesn't need a substrate or much light. Don't forget to check out the Labyrinth Lounge forum for lots of good advice on your Betta! ![]() |

Whichever you pick you might want to consider wide broad leaves (java fern size or larger) since bettas really do seem to enjoy curling up on the leaves. If you do decide to go with java fern, get a small piece of driftwood to tie it to and let it root itself to the wood. It will also root to rock, it just takes longer ![]() HTH a bit ![]() ![]() ^_^ [/font] ![]() |

Ill have to look for it when i go back to get another fish (my female betta died and i wanna replace her). |

IME< the Java fern will grow but stay teensy with itty bitty little leaves. Cute, but not much of a statement! -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

It's fun to peek into the tanks and see that my bettas have wormed their way into the hornwort and dozed off. I also have several fake plants for there snoozing enjoyment. ![]() ~Meow.
