29 gallon tank is almost done, and it's looking fabulous (its my first real planted tank, I'm so proud!). I'm thinking a final touch may be a nice carpet.

It has strong light, co2, and a laterite layer.

I was thinking glosso, since it would add nice texture to the tank. How often does this need to be trimmed? It seems like it would need to be done often...

Microsword? What else do you suggest as a carpet? I'm kind of lazy, so I'd like less maintenance if possible(though I can accomodate). Riccia is kind of over used, but if you think it would be best, sure.

Thanks!

If you're worried about being overdone, I'd say glosso would be out of the question--due to the relative ease of maintainence when compared to riccia, it tends to be used more.

Hair grass would be a good option it does not need trimming and it's a fast grower.

Wow, that's strange, I tend to see riccia more than glosso, but I'll stay away from the glosso anyway.

Hairgrass? I had a clump once, and it just grew up and...never across. Course, that was when I didnt know how to take care of plants, so it was under a like, 20watt bulb and no Co2 or fertilization, could that be why?

What about microsword? I see it from time to time at my LFS. They sell it in big ol' clumps for $5.
