The red temple are starting to loose the red color and turning green, and then the leaves are falling off and apart! The amazon sword (which is small) is also starting to die (only one leaf so far). The amazon sword is young, so i don't think it is loosing the emerged leaves and regrowing submerged leaves. Also, an ozelot sword looks like it may be covered in algae, or getting an odd dark green color. GRRR, what is going on? |

Were they doing good before you moved them? Maybe they weren't doing too well anyway, but then the shock of moving them killed them. Moving plants, once fully established shouldn't be done. It causes the plant to virtually have to re-adjust. Especially when moving stems plants - it is actually better to cut the stem before the roots start and have them "re-generate" than to keep those old roots and re-plant, usually these roots end up rotting any dying anyway. Try and make their move as comfy as possible and hope for the best, there's nothing else you can really do. Add some liquid fert and substrate fert whihc should help. Other than that, don't touch or fiddle with the plants! Good Luck [span class="edited"][Edited by guppy01 2004-09-07 00:45][/span] |

And I didn't move them from one tank to another, I redid the way my tank was. I have moved some plants into a smaller tank which has brighter lighting, because I think I am having problems with my lighting. I AM adding liquid fertilizers, and swords are getting fertilizers placed at the ba |

If you have a bad algae problem, and it's stiking to all the leaves, then you should just cut off the infected leaves, and find the way to control it in your tank. Replant the stem or bulb and let it start all over again. Algae blocks the leaves from light, so they cannot absorb it, then they'll start dieing. |
