Are plants near heater likely to suffer or die? I have my Ludwigs near my heater but not touching it.

It probably depends on the temperature of the water near your heater, but I would assume your plants will be fine.

They've been there for about 1 month and show no signs of adverse affects. I only have 1.33WPG and they are doing very well. Especially the root system, when I got them there was none but now they have grown a good portion.

If your plants have shown no signs of damage or anything like that, and are growing well, I wouldn't worry.
