Two of the easiest plants would be anubias and java fern.

Both these plants only need low lighting which i think you have.

Do these require any special or extra care other than flourescent lightin? Should I worry about algae problems with Java, Anubias, or Crypts?

The only thing is with crypts is when they might have a "melt". All of the leaves will die away and it looks like it si dead. Make sure you do not take it out though because they will come back.

Dwarf lily bulbs are good beginner plants also aponogetons, this you can get in your local wall mart, also elodea, and Vallysneria, they are easy to keep actually you don't have to do anything to them just pop them in and that's it. Also hornwort.

If it's and established tank you don't have to worry about algae, adding plants doesn't mean you are adding algae, and you don't have to worry about ferts either since this will feed on the bioload of the tank.

I have no special lighting in any of my tanks.

I've had luck with anacharis, swords, water sprite, moneywort, and water wisteria. Hornwort is easy and a good floater but IME can be quite messy.

I'm waiting on a plant order and will be trying vals, sagittaria, and crypts.
