Potassium for plants | |
gmonster Hobbyist Posts: 54 Kudos: 40 Votes: 1 Registered: 26-Mar-2004 | I was wondering if i could use KHCo3 - potasssium bi carb for my potassium source instead of kh2so4? Its used too make soda water. It does raise ph but not at these small doses i tested it at 1/4 tsp in 200lt tank ...and it had no change for pH. Would the carbon also be beneficial for plants? |

Also the Bicarbonate will build up over time, causing changes in your water chemistry, one dose won't do anything, but 10 might. I wouldn't use that as your source for potassium. KH2SO4 is available cheaply at greg watson's website and is what I use. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |
