Ok i am looking to start a 30 gal planted tank and i need to decide on some plants, substrate and fish.

Currently have some javamoss and a Javafern that I was given for free. it is in a 10gal with guppies.

I plan on keeping the guppies and moving them to the 30gal, now as for the fish what can i keep that wont eat all of my guppy fry (they can eat some just want some surviors) and wont eat my plants??

Substrate i was either planning a small grain mixed with flourite, or doing a sand substrate, Which is better??

and then for plants i plan on a small piece of drift wood, and about 2 watts per gallon of light and a DIY Co2. What plants would you guys recommend??

This is my first planted tank, however my brother has a 90gal that is shaping up very nicly, and i have made my decsion to move the 10gal up to a 30.

Is it a regular 30, or is it a high 30

have not bought it yet so that is up in the air

you can do an amazon themed tank
substrate: flourite
plants: amazon sword as central piece
hydros
micro sword
gloso
fish: schooling tetras such as cardinal tetras, rummy nose,
decoration: drift wood (want to make it look natural)
