Takashi Amano Substrate? | |
Brian1216 Hobbyist Posts: 97 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Apr-2005 | Today i was inquiring about Eco-Complete at my LFS today and the worker there told me i should use Takashi Amano's amazonian substrate instead. He said it was amazing for plants and they sold it for $45 per bag. I passed but said i would look into it. I researched it and found this link on the internet. Has anyone used this substrate? I'm hesitant to pay $45 per bag for it. Is it really worth it? http://www.ada-eu.com/catalog/English/01%20Substrate%20System.pdf |

If you can get Eco Complete cheaper, I would go that direction. Some people swear by ADA substrate, but there are other options out there that work just as well. It does lower your KH and pH a bit, so if you are going to keep fish that like a lower pH, it might be something to consider. $45 a bag is a bit much though IMO. |
