Does anyone know if TB's will do ok in a planted tank, without destroying them? I would like to have a couple otos and they need a planted tank. I thinking of adding a couple live plants to my 20g so I can get a couple otos.

Any suggestions?

Scott . I've had Tigers in my planted Tanks with no major problems .
They will pick a bit but will not do enough damage to worry about.
If you feed some vege flakes every second or third feed they will pretty much leave your plants alone .

well, I have discovered that Tiber Barbs love to nibble about anything, including the Anacharis I had planted. They chomped on it so much so, that it is now floating. I will probably set the tips under a rock or tie them to the new driftwood I have soaking since Saturday. They dont look as good floating as the Hornwort does...

I have my tiger barbs in a planted tank as I write(just put them in yesterday ) and there dont really bother the plants. The pick every once in a while but usally just end up going back and picking on one another Well good luck and I would love to see some picks of the tank once you get it all planted up

Mine used to nibble plants when I was first getting into them way back when. solved problems by putting lots of plants in at once. Tigerbarbs do as many fish do, if theres one plant it becomes the focus of attention and gets pulled up. Put a load in and its as if they forget, and then they just live with them.

I have two bunches of plants, one hornwort the other anacharis. They are somewhat raggedy looking and the TB's have tugged the anacharis out of the substrate. I am looking for some anubia to add as well. But, so far the plants are hanging in there and the TB's aren't too hard on them.
