Babelfish Administrator Small Fry with Ketchup Posts: 6833 Kudos: 8324 Votes: 1570 Registered: 17-Apr-2003	Best IMO is to use cotton thread, it'll eventually break up naturally into the tank, and you'll have no worries about it contaminating the tank. I've also used fishing line, and rubberbands. Rubber bands work for things that will root quickly (depending on your set up your java fern might do this) but it does tend to break down fairly quickly under water and you probably don't want your fishies munching on rubber band bits. It does also work to weight them down, or wedge into place....just be careful that the rhizome doesn't get burried. ^_^
