I can remember I have come across a .co.uk site which sold excellent value aquarium plants and came recommended.. However, I did not bookmark it and can't remember where I found it or what it was called..!

Anybody know which it might have been?

I think it was me I remember somebody asking the question before . Birstall have an excellent selection and mail order service. They are located in Bristol I think.

Here are the links as reference for any Brits out there who are wanting to buy plants for their aquarium - hugely more economical than buying at the lfs - around four or five times cheaper I think at least - also the plants are labelled so you know what you are getting, no guesswork when the staff don't know!!

are there any Australian Mail Order Plant sites??

In the UK you can also find online plants at www.aquatics-direct.co.uk. I have ordered plants from them, Java plants and Birstall, but haven't got my order from birstall yet, so I can't tell you how good they are.

Java and Aquatics Direct both import their own plants from the far east while birstall seem to be selling tropica plants, most usually in pots, but I can't tell you for sure until I've received them.

As for the other two, if you plan on buying assorted plants, they seem to be the same. If you want individual plans, get them from Java plants, as the p&p of direct aquatics is outrageous. They also sent me the wrong plant. I didn't really mind, because it was a nice plant, but when I wanted to know what it is, they never bothered replying to my emails. That's a shame.
