![]() | Val-like plant with odd top growth |
littlemousling![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Conchiform Posts: 5230 Registered: 23-Aug-2003 ![]() ![]() | Can anyone ID the tall, skinny plants in this picture? ![]() Of course my first instinct is to say Val, but that odd twisting of the growth at the top makes me think it's an Apon, perhaps? Or ... well, if I had a good guess I wouldn't be asking, I'd be researching! So, anyone want to help me pinpoint it? (BTW, not my tank, in case that's not clear enough from the "I don't know what this plant is" query! ![]() -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

That is just my guess, I don't think you can get a real good guess without getting a closer look at the plant. Also, that is QUITE a tank!! Who's design is it? |

But, if you're looking for incredible aquascapes, don't miss the AGA contest, it can't be beat. I've never seen Sag with that kind of top growth, although it could be an accident of the lighting scheme or something I suppose ... have you guys seen that? -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

However, doing so took a lot of time. |

But, I doubt that's the case here - this is one of the tanks they set up for an office building or something, I doubt they were in every few days moving lights! ![]() -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

Also, I recognize the Cardinals but those red fishes are pretty! ![]() [span class="edited"][Edited by sly 2004-09-04 20:31][/span] |

The bottom half of the plant is very Val-like! Could be a variant of some type? Another plant it reminds me of is Lilaeopsis - except lilaeopsis is much shorter and is foreground plant. |

Just doesn't look right to me. As for the plant I'm not sure but my Balansae crypt grows skinny leaves that can twist a bit at the end. But it's a long shot. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

On the right those are aponogeton undulatus and the again an amazon sword. [span class="edited"][Edited by Falstaf 2004-09-06 13:32][/span] |
