Can anyone ID the tall, skinny plants in this picture?

Of course my first instinct is to say Val, but that odd twisting of the growth at the top makes me think it's an Apon, perhaps? Or ... well, if I had a good guess I wouldn't be asking, I'd be researching! So, anyone want to help me pinpoint it?
(BTW, not my tank, in case that's not clear enough from the "I don't know what this plant is" query!)[/font]

It doesn't look like dwarf sag but rather regular sag to me. That is just my guess, I don't think you can get a real good guess without getting a closer look at the plant.

Also, that is QUITE a tank!! Who's design is it?

I think that one's by the Aquarium Design Group.

But, if you're looking for incredible aquascapes, don't miss the AGA contest, it can't be beat.

I've never seen Sag with that kind of top growth, although it could be an accident of the lighting scheme or something I suppose ... have you guys seen that?

I've heard of someone making aquatic plants have odd shapes by moving the plant around to cause it to grow in different directions. However, doing so took a lot of time.

It'd be easier to move the lights around, I'd think. But, I doubt that's the case here - this is one of the tanks they set up for an office building or something, I doubt they were in every few days moving lights!

Don't mind if I bump in. What's the broad leaf plant in the picture?

Also, I recognize the Cardinals but those red fishes are pretty!

And just in case you weren't joking, although I think you were those are Discus.

Oh ]

For some reason, I thought they were too small to even think of Discus

The tank must be huge!

Maybe just a species of val? The bottom half of the plant is very Val-like! Could be a variant of some type?

Another plant it reminds me of is Lilaeopsis - except lilaeopsis is much shorter and is foreground plant.

Is it just me or do those Discus look like they have been superimposed onto the photo? Just doesn't look right to me.

As for the plant I'm not sure but my Balansae crypt grows skinny leaves that can twist a bit at the end. But it's a long shot.

Actually, I was thinking "some crypt species" when I first saw it, so you could be right. Argh, maybe I should just email the company!

Those are Sagittaria subulata, when almost reaching the surface the leaves beguin to curl because of the strong light and aquire that shape

The curled ones at the left is a regular amazon sword which also the leaves turn rippled because of the high lighting, adaptation.

On the right those are aponogeton undulatus and the again an amazon sword.
