I was just wondering if it would be possible to keep Val in a 10 gallon tank?

I am asking because i realise how tall Val grows, and how short a 10 gallon tank is.

If i can keep it, how do i go about trimming the leaves when i need to? Do i just cut them half way, or should i snip them off at the base of the plant?

What you think?

Hi,

As long as it's not a giant vall you can keep it in that size of tank. it will grow and be happy but it can really take over the surface of your tank. Corkscrew Val stays small i think that's the best way to go.

As for trimming it, you just cut the leave at the size you want, i cut them in angles to keep them looking natural, but the plant won't mind at all, it will remain growing and growing and growing!

Hi i did a little reaserch on valls and is you can ger the var. Tortifolia, it won't grow that tall, so it will be good for that 10G tank.

Check the profiles on my signature to see all the specs.

yes, corkscrew vals will grow just fine in a 10g. i used to keep them in mine, but they grew all over so i transfered them to my 50g which still had my severums and they ate it ]:|
