My 20 gallon tank has what I think is BGA. I took this tank down, cleaned it, and replanted it a few weeks ago. The heater is completely covered with a bright green film (not a lime green, darker). The gravel and some plants are also getting this film, and you can see air bubbles under the film. If I disturb the water a bit by it, the film waves some. Any ideas? Is it BGA? |

I'd really love to give you advice on how to get rid of it for good, but I'm trying to figure that out myself... hopefully you'll get some help here ![]() |

That seems to be a key point with that stuff. My nitrates are always very low, which is why I assume I have the problem. But I wanted to verify before I started all my research. |

That was working for a while, but I dont know why it blew up again on me. I know the best way to get rid of it is to make sure your plants are growing, so thats why I asked in the other post if CO2 would indirectly help. for what it's worth, the first method that worked for me was a real good cleaning, then a four day blackout, then start dosing KNO3 and keep those levels up. it worked for me for a while, but Ive screwed something up along the way.
