how much cleaning are we talking about?, that you have to empty your tank, anuff that you think java moss will die.? plus another good plant is hornworth since it floats on the surface where guppy frys tend to stay

Anything that will form dense foliage is good, especially if it's in varying length. A bunch of easy to grow stem plants planted together and allowed to grow to the surface will provide excellent hiding place for them. Many bunches planted close will be even better.

Possible suggestions: Anachris and hornwort and whatever else which is not too demanding.

By the way, you should NEVER completely empty your tank to clean it, you will only at most empty probably 30%-40%, no more, as it will ruin bacteria that has built up in your tank. So you will not have to worry about that. But when i clean my tank i sometimes take out the java moss, or a clump of it just because you will have so much! I would not worry about it dying!

Water lettuce will do the trick nicely, low maintenance, also forms root systems and shade for the fry.

I think that any floating plant will do. As long as the Guppy fry has somewhere to hide.
