Does anyone know where I could get KNO3 and KH2PO4 in Australia? The Flourish liquids are pretty expensive, so I'd like to try the solid chemicals if they're available here. I hear the gregwatson site mentioned often, but I imagine shipping cost to Australia (if they'd even do it) would be pretty high.

You could try hydroponic supply stores. Both these items are used for hydroponics.

For KNO3 - stump remover either the Grants or Greenlight brand are pure KNO3. Not sure of availability in Aus. You can try other brands but check the contents.

For KH2PO4 you can try a pharmacy. Fleets enema lotion (maybe ask the wife to go in and ask for that one)is a liquid form of KH2PO4. You dose in drops. I can help with the dosage.

If all that fails look me up the next time you are in Jakarta. I've got a 25kg bag of KNO3 in the laundry room. Enough for 200 years. Wife keeps nagging me I've got some KH2PO4 I can spare too.

I assume your wife's miffed b/c you have more of that than rice?!
I better check first if those things can be brought into Australia.

Are you talking about KNO3 as solids or solution? I've only see KNO3 as solution.

Plenty of KNO3 in our school lab. Just recently did a titration with KNO3.

I wonder if chemical warehouses sell them directly to the public as you know some chemicals can be used to make chemical weapons.
