Tank: 20 gallon long (30"x12"x12" )

Stocking list:
8 Apistogramma agassizii or Apistogramma borellii
3 ottos
6 hatchetfish

filters:
aquaclear 30 and whisper mini (submersiable)

I definitely want to have a long piece of driftwood in the back of the tank. I plan on siliconing rocks on it to hold it down as well as a few "branches" in order to hide my various equipment. I also need some kind of large centerpiece plant in the middle to give both apistogramma species their own territory. Does anyone have any plants in mind?

djtj,

I just did a little math on your fishies for this tank:

21 fishies with a total length of 44”

Your tank will hold maybe up to 16 gallons of water, given that you attempt to add driftwood, rocks, and a solid bed of gravel for your plants.

That’s a lot of fish, are you sure that you would like to do this?

djtj, please refer to your other post in general freshwater, you ahve to ahve sand to breed apistos and the sand won't work with live plants.

Also, I thought i said to drop the gouramis and phantoms?

Or have you not updated this thread yet?

right now that stock is looking like a problem for your tank.

Chill buddy, this thread is old. I just edited the stocking (cup is making suggestions there, he wanted the neons). I also added the filters.

And as for plants, Mr. wesolowski is helping me in the aquascaping forum. He knows of a few different plants that might be able to survive in sand.

So, this thread really doesn't serve a purpose for me (However, that doesn't mean other people can't read it and learn from it) Anyone who want's the contine the topic (I'd really appriciate it ) go to aquascaping.
