I have read that the best way to prune this is to cut a few inches above the substrate line, pull up the old rooted part and re-plant the top part. Does anyone have experience of this?
How can I propagate this particuar plant? What happens once it reaches the water line? I've also read you can bring it on as a terrestrial, does anybody have experience of this also.

That's certainly the way I do it. It's not necessary to do it that way but I find if you cut the top it grows out thinner and kind of yucky.

It will also grow out of water but will look very different, with very round leaves. Although while I know it can be grown emmersed and then submersed I'm not sure if it will work the other way round

That's how I ended up with so many wisteria plants .

Most of mine actually came from damaged leaves that came off after the rest of the plant was planted and were just floating around on the surface....I was about to toss them when I noticed the little rootlets .
