At Sauble Beach I found Elodia Densa (Anacharis), another plant that resembles hornwort except a different 'leaf' pattern, a cabomba type plant, some plant that might be either a val type, a kelp looking type, and add that with one found in a stream in Aurora that closely resembles my Hygro Polysperma.. Had to clean these carefully, worms and stuff were found, and some stuff that may have been snail eggs, changed the water 4 times also..

Didn't know what to make for a snail dip.. Haven't added them yet, they're in a glass jar.. Any ideas ?

No ideas but wow, Georgian Bay...I used to live around there, my husband is actually back up visiting this weekend. Where do you live?

Congrats on the plants though, good finds

Hi there ! I live in Aurora, but parents live in Wiarton near Colpoy's Bay.. Sauble 20 min from there. Yup Theresa, good finds in that area, rocks, driftwood, you name it. Found me a nice sunburn too ! But it was fun I was walking along the waters edge with my frisbee when I spotted the Elodia, knew what that was right away. Started searching the water and placing plant bits into my frisbee, with water in it lol.. Yes good finds. I put some liquid fert into the glass jar with a flourescent lamp on it for now. If there are snails my clown loaches will take care of that but I'm more concerned if there are parasites etc that are too small for the eye. I don't have any potassium permangenate or alum and if I did I still need some kind of recipe. Any ? Thanks ! I have trojans on my system and having a royal pain here, sorry for the delay !
