I don't really need any answers as to why this algae is growing in part of my 20 gal. long. I'm sure that it's because during the later part of the day when the sun is about to start settling down it shines through the curtains in one corner of my tank, the corner where this algae is growing pretty good. But I would like to know what type it is please? Here's the link to the pic.

I try my best to take care of my tank and do a 30% WC and gravel vacuum every 10 days. No overfeeding of fish. Water test lately are... pH is 8.0, Ammonia 0 ppm, Nitrite 0 ppm, Nitrate 5 ppm. Lighting is 55W compact fluorescent strip light on for about 12 hrs, maybe an hour more on some busy days (I'm going out soon to pick up a couple light timers for my 20 and 10 gal. actually!).

Thanks ahead of time for any info.

Looks like staghorn algae to me. It is usually connected to low levels of nitrates rather than light, actually.

Sorry, I've never had a problem with Algae, so I can't ID it for you.

I just wanted to ask, why didn't you post it on the page? You are a Premie and links are not needed. You did know that right?
