	actnic lighting for plants?

I was planning on getting a doublebright perfecto fixture in which you can have 2x's the wattage. My question is, can you use actnic lights with live plants in a tank for freshwater? I think this would givethe water and fish a nice color.

You can get bulbs from the LFS, or for much cheaper if you get them from the hardware store . Look for bulbs with a daylight spectrum and 5000-6500 Kelvin. It's my unterstanding that actnic lighting is really only useful for deep tanks, and may help the algae more then the plants. ^_^ [/font]

clownloachfan Fish Addict Posts: 660 Kudos: 850 Votes: 115 Registered: 10-Oct-2003	Yeah i have a planted tank already with the plant bulb in. I was asking, in addition to could i add actnic lighting to plant light bulbs. I thought about it though, it would look really unatural for in freshwater.
