I forget the name of it, but it is not a fully aquatic plant. It's a terrarium plant, so while its roots do fine completely submerged in water, its leaves need to be able to get out of it, or it'll die.

Thanks I searched through terrarium plants and found it on azgardens: [link=http://www.azgardens.com/images/5root2.jpg]http://www.azgardens.com/images/5root2.jpg" style="COLOR: #00C0C0[/link]

Looks the same to me. neanthebella palm(chamaedorea elegans) Another search says it's very hardy and withstands high moisture.. does not say it grows underwater and it appears to be a very common houseplant. I'll toss in my tank and see if it does anything otherwise my mom gets a new houseplant

Haha, sounds like a good plan I think I had something like it in my old treefrog's vivarium. Not sure if it was the same plant...

I have a palm in my room that looks exactly like that one only alot bigger. I hope you didnt pay too much for it. My advice would be, to plant it in a pot with plain dirt(no extra fertalizers) with a little sand in the dirt. In the spring, it should be watered 2-3 times a week. In the winter and fall, only water once every other week. It likes indirect sunshine. It should not be fertilized too often either. Mine seems to be doing good with fertilizer at the begining of each season.
