well i want to give my SA cichlid tank a natural look but im wondering what i could do. According to most websites convicts and oscar wont destroy plants in the little pots they come in...is this true? would flotting plants work? like hornwort and such....

I don't think any plants would be really safe from the ravages of these cichlids. The potted plants would still be dug up and or moved by these larger cichlids. As far as the floating plants I haven't tried any with these fish, but probably would be tore up also.
