would it be possible to have an all swords tank
it will have a tiny bit over 3.5wpg

it will have
Micro sword
pygmy sword plant
Bolivian sword plant
radicans sword plant
amazon sword
ruffled Amazon swordplant
Large flowered amazon swordplant

Ive all ready fixed the problem of the big height difference between the dwarf swords and the radicans swordplant i will do this by using a big log

will the larger plants compete with the smaller ones?
is it enough light for the micro sword?

This tank was inspired by keigths all Anubias tank

how big is this tank going to be? and i always thought micro sword needed 4wpg you could probably do it with 3.5wpg if you're doing co2 and have a good substrate but i've never tried the micro so i have no idea what would make it work.

Certainly it's possible to have an all sword tank. Couple of things you need to be aware of.

You'll need a good substrate with a decent supply of iron as swords are heavy root feeders. Some the swords will get extremely large and can quickly outgrow a lot of tanks. What size tank are you thinking of ?

Ive all ready fixed the problem of the big height difference between the dwarf swords and the radicans swordplant i will do this by using a big log

I'm very curious about this. How will using a log help ?
If you mean you want to attach the sword to the log, that won't work as swords need their roots buried. If you intend to use the log to create a hill or mound of substrate to create different heights it may need some support as the substrate will shift over time.

i mean there is a huge differencer in height between the foreground plants and the midground plants so ive got a log which is in between the height of the foreground and midground plants to make it flow better.

oh and the tanks 20inches tall

Ahhhh...now I understand. Good idea.

20' tank is not bad. I've got a 2ft tall tank and the Amazon still pierces the surface but not by much, so it'sa not a problem. Give them some width too, they get pretty wide.

There a couple of types of microsword some are easier then others. I think the Novae Zealandae is the easiest, try for that one.

OTOH, Microsword's not really a sword in the same way E. tenellus is, I'd use that instead. Lesser requirements, too.

Also it will flow a lot better then the diagram shows
that diagram is really just a ruff not the final thing i would have shown how they are going to flow through one another but my talent on paint couldnt match those standards.

oh and im thinking of moving the black amazon sword behind the radicans as the radicans more dense near the top of the plant above the log whereas the black amazon sword is dense all over which would make it harder to see the log

do you guys think its a
idea
or a
idea
