Couple of things you need to be aware of. You'll need a good substrate with a decent supply of iron as swords are heavy root feeders. Some the swords will get extremely large and can quickly outgrow a lot of tanks. What size tank are you thinking of ? Ive all ready fixed the problem of the big height difference between the dwarf swords and the radicans swordplant i will do this by using a big log I'm very curious about this. How will using a log help ? If you mean you want to attach the sword to the log, that won't work as swords need their roots buried. If you intend to use the log to create a hill or mound of substrate to create different heights it may need some support as the substrate will shift over time. Good idea. 20' tank is not bad. I've got a 2ft tall tank and the Amazon still pierces the surface but not by much, so it'sa not a problem. Give them some width too, they get pretty wide. There a couple of types of microsword some are easier then others. I think the Novae Zealandae is the easiest, try for that one. Alex![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict 510 Posts: 721 Registered: 03-Oct-2004 ![]() ![]() | oh and im thinking of moving the black amazon sword behind the radicans as the radicans more dense near the top of the plant above the log whereas the black amazon sword is dense all over which would make it harder to see the log do you guys think its a ![]() or a ![]() Last edited by Alex 4 eva at 12-Jan-2005 15:10 |
