does UV sterlizer work in planted? | |
brodieman Small Fry Posts: 10 Kudos: 4 Votes: 0 Registered: 17-Oct-2007 | I was just wondering if UV sterilers are ok to use in a planted aquarium, or more importantly is it safe to use fertilzers with it? |

Its for killing parasites, bacteria, etc- its usually used in ponds but you can use it in a tank if you wanted. FWIW- nice tank tetratech http://www.fishprofiles.com/site/aquarank.aspx |

For planted tanks, this is not a good solution since the UV light will also oxidize trace elements needed by the plants and will limit the plant's growth potential. Comments? :j |
