well, i think that about does it for those plants in my tank. They've sent out a couple runners, but nothing substantial, and the main plants seem to be either thin or melting/ rotting. i think it's lighting: ive been told they would do alright on 1.3 wpg but i guess thats not enough. in any case, the hornwort (despite the algae), crypts and anubias are all doing very well.

with my recent losses - or expected losses - in mind, what would be some good plants to replace them with? wisteria, water sprite, anacharis? i'd like something semi-dense, since my tigre barbs seemed to like "sleeping" in between the blades of the sags and vals. thanks

My Dwarf Sag seem to be melting as well. I have a 1.3WPG like you and its only been in the tank for 1 week. I hope it survives!

i HOPE mine survive as well but im not really counting on it. the strange thing is there are a few new ones popping up from beneath the substrate, so the plants arent dead YET. the main blades seem to be dying though. my tank is also recently planted, about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks ago. maybe it's the transition to new water that's causing them to melt? not sure. im by no means an expert on aquarium plants though, so thats just a guess.
