I want a few easy going low light plants for my malawi hap 125g. I have a 40wt strip light on top, which means I have .3wpg. I know that that is very little but I could double it. I am going to use a couple of these for the plants

Java fern and java moss should do well if you get a little more light.

Really you have 2 problems. The light and the African Cichlids who will take great joy in uprooting and re-aquascaping your plants at any given opportunity !

With the light you have (you'd probably still need the other bulb) and fish you are really limited to just Java Ferns and Anubias attached to the rocks. These plants are too tough for Cichlids to mess with.

Having said that Ferns and Anubias both come in a good range of shapes and sizes so it's still possible to do a varied interesting aquascape with just these 2 species. The various species will be hard to find in an LFS so you may have to order on-line. However they are both practically indestructible so it's usually a good investment to pay the bit extra.

Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.
