floating plant Q | |

Also duckweed depending on the growth rate of the species can either be a pain in the backside or handy. I think the thing to do is identify the exact species, and then if suitable , wash it thoroughly , and qt it for a few weeks in conditioned tapwater so any nasties get starved out before you use it. Keep an eye out for leeches etc , they start out positively microscopic. All things considered it might be better to go for a more regularly used floating species purchased specifically for aquaria. Duckweed, if it likes your aquarium conditions and the fish arent enough to control it, will often end up cutting off both light and surface area quite quickly. |
