I was wondering if anyone has used this substrate from redsea called "florabase" and what you think of it if you have used it. The color seems kind of plain and boring but i think it can be made up for with colorfull fish.

Myself and others felt it turned to mush after about 1 year. I'm not particularly happy with it. Might be okay for a non CO2 tank and low growth tanks for longer peroids. Soft and light weight, two traits I do not like, grows the plants well though.

Regards,
Tom Barr

Yea i am gonna be planting a 10 gallon and i was looking for a substrate that isn't as sharp as florite. If this stuff turns to much in a year or so im not sure it is a good choice. Perhaps if i got a little more feedback from others it could help me decide.
