Falstaf![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 785 Kudos: 1211 Votes: 196 Registered: 12-Feb-2004 ![]() ![]() | Well it all depends on the substrate and in the quality of your light vs. tank volume, but if you cover all those the answer is no, they don't need to have a cycled tank, they get their nutrients from the substrate in most cases, and the ones that don't they can get from ferts. if you are running a fishless tank. If there are fish in it, their waste will be enough to feed them, you don't want to add ferts. if your plants don't need them, just keep a close look on them, if they start getting yellow or develop spots, that's a warning sign that they need it.
