Then plants have only been in the tank 3 days so no problems yet. i'm inteading to get a new light either a T5 setup or a couple normal tubes (T8 i think). Anyway the bulb that came with the tank is 15W know idea range etc it has no name. So i've brought a 10000K 15W bulb which was on offer for the time being. it says it's for great aqautic plant growth? is 10000K ok? Most of the plants are low light anyway - see 20g tank link below. What else can i do to aid growth of my plants. V. cheap CO2?? etc. www.blooming-brilliant.co.uk |

This is generally used in SW coral tanks. While plants may be able to use this, the tank and fish will look very blue. The next time you buy a bulb, you might want to go with the 6500K range or "daylight" which is great for plant growth and can be bought cheaply. DIY CO2 can be very very cheap and I'm sure if you scroll down a few lines or do a search you will find a great deal of information about it. If you are still confused, I can answer questions you might have about it, as I am currently running DIY CO2. good luck with your new plants! Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I would use something around the 5000-6500k range for plants. ![]() But if the plants grow its all that matters] ![]() Go with the Co2. I see a huge difference in my 30 gallon (Heavy planted) Tank, when using Co2 ![]() |

Actually the light is quite white you don't see any blue. Works extremely well. The reason I use 10000K is because I have a large very deep "show tank" so it helps get some additional light to the bottom.
