I have an empty 5g that I am going to start fishless cycling when my filter comes in. I am going to plant it. Is it better to put the plants in during the cycling or wait until after it is cycled? I am not really trying to rush the process, I just need to cycle it as quick as I can because I have a gourami who needs to get away from his male companion in my 10g..I need to put him somewhere else as soon as I can until I get a bigger aquarium. Do the plants make the process any faster?

The plants wont necessarily make it any faster...although if they're coming from an established tank they'll bring some of the bio filter with them .
With a planted tank you're not likely to see as high numbers on the cycle as without since the plants will consume some of the ammonia.

Ok thanks! I was just wondering if it had any affect on the process.
