There's only one lfs I like to buy plants from, and their Amazon swords were $5.99 So I ordered mine online, 8 medium and 1 small, total of $31 with shipping.

I got the order today and the plants are big, the smallest is 13" excluding roots. As a bonus one of them has four babies.

I'm attaching a pic, just wondering if this was a good deal or not.

It was a REALLY good deal, it's true that amazon are not really expensive plants, but these look healthy and already produceing daughter plants, so it's a really good deal.

Congratulations!

I think it's a great deal... where did you order from? The plants look gorgeous and even with shipping come out cheaper than your LFS. The daughter plants are a great bonus.

My usual place, Aquatic Plant Depot. I think this was my fourth order from them.

I just went back to their website and checked under 'swords'. It shows Small 6" to 8"; Medium 8" to 10"; Large 10" to 12"; X-Large 12" to 15". Mine were supposed to be mediums and one small I'm not complaining, they'll fit in the tank. I guess that would be a problem for someone ordering for a smaller tank though.

I have a feeling they are emerse grown, therefore may lose most of their 'emerse' leaves and grow smaller submersed leaves.

This is what happeed to me once; I bought a huge green amazon sword from the LFS for $10. One week in my tank and most of those huge green leaves began rotting and the plant took on its submersed form - the submerse form was a red leafed sword! Looks totally different from when I bought it.

Either way it's a great deal, have fun!

Are Amazon swords difficult to keep? Will it grow in a 1.33WPG tank?

There's an online store near me that only cost $1.99 for one!
