acei![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 316 Kudos: 291 Votes: 1 Registered: 18-Mar-2004 ![]() ![]() | i am currently researching the thought of putting a couple mangrove plants in my 55g african cichlid tanks. i hear they really suck up nitrates. would this be feasable? i have heard they do good, but one source says they will not work in freshwater with no salt. my tank parameters are ph 8.0, gh 8, kh 10, amm=0, nitrites=0, nitrates 40-80 (depending on when i do water changes) i would like to get the nitrates down as low as i could. i came accross an article in a fish mag about it a while ago, but cant find it. any help from experience would be greatly appreciated. also, what species would be best? black, red or other? |

I don't know how they would do in fw, but I do know they are brackish in the wild. |
