Is there a site anyone knows about to search by plant height?? I tried plantgeek.net but it doesn't actually say the height of the plants, just the placement, which is relative to tank size I would think.
thanks!

On http://www.tropica.com you can search by height if you click on the Advanced Search on the top right corner.

On Plantgeek you can search by aquascape placement - obviously if it's a shorter plant you'll find it in the foreground section. Medium sized plants will be in the "middle" section, and your tallest will be in the backdrop section.

Thank you very much for the tropica link. It's very helpful.

The problem I have with the aquascape placements they have on plantgeek is that it doesn't differentiate between if it would be a background plant in a 12" high tank or in a 30" high tank.

There are a lot of factors that directly or indirectly affect plant height. Some plants will stay small no matter what, but for many plants you would have to limit growth or adjust growth by limiting nutrients, lighting, co2, pruning, etc. to maintain a certain height. IMO, a height search is useless, although maybe a "tankbuster" warning for some plants would be in order so people aren't planting small oriental swords in a 2.5 gallon thinking they'll be fine in there.
