I am going to be picking up some java moss later this week and I have noticed that the LFS I will be going to (only one that carries the moss) has snails in the plant tanks.....I don't want snails in my tank as the moss is to provide a breeding medium and the snails would defeat that by consuming any fish eggs they found...what is the best way to treat the java moss to kill off any snails/eggs that may be on it when I get it home before introducing it into my tank???

Diluted Potassium Permangenate or Bleach are the most common plant dips to remove snails. I'm not sure where to get the PP, but you dilute it to a light purple color. The bleach dip is generally 1 part bleach to 9 parts water. For java moss, I wouldn't leave it in the solution for more than a minute, then rinse, rinse, rinse.
