I'm switching my 30g from fake to real plants, it's been a crazy week and I forgot the plant order was due to arrive. We're going out of town this afternoon until Sun evening. This is a big project and I really can't do anything with it today. Is it ok for me to float the plants in the tank until I'm able to actually plant them?

edit: forgot to mention they are all Amazon swords if that makes any difference

I think that would be fine. Also if it is a possibility, just put some weights on them so they stay at the bottom and completly emersed. Again, I think they will be fine for 2 days.

Thanks, I hadn't even thought about weights.

Would it be ok if I filled my sink or tub and left them in there?

Actually when you receive this plants they are not shipped submerged, only in a really damp atmosphere (usually in a closed plastic bag with a little water, Swords will do fine if you let them in the bag for a couple of days, just open them and refill with fresh air, and leave them in a dark fresh place.

To put them submerged in a sink or in a tub would be also good, but you are at more risk for them to rot, since they don't have enough light.

I once totally forgot that I had bought an amazon sword and it was left for 3 days inside the bag that it came in and this bag inside another black bag, when I realized this I thought that it would be totally dead or rotten, but it was in perfect shape.

If you can weight them down in the tank, should be good.
What I do is put them in a couple large mason jars with a bit of liquid fert, and keep under a flourescent lamp.. Also good, congrats on the new plants !
