i am swapping out my substrate soon, and want to know which is better... eco-complete, onyx, or flourite? and how deep do i need for growing good plants? 2.5? 3?

also need your opinions on the following...

1. I want LOTS of vals to cover the back
2. some cute carpets
3. some type of moss to cover my malaysia drift wood and a piece of stone

what type of vals, carpet, and moss should i get?


i am currently using 4 screw-on type of fluorescent bulbs (daylight) total of 92 watts + a 20watts tube of plant light = 112 /29 = close to 4wpg... i think i will change the tube to actinic(sp) or 50/50 once i finish my other 2 tubes i have for backup... anything else i need to change??
