my angels are all hanging out near the surface now that the co2 is working, some people told me its not because of the co2, and angels arent exactly stressed nor gasping for air. what else could be wrong?

otos are doing fine too, still busy cleaning the rocks and stuff. the angels are fine too, except i dont know why they hang out way up there, they dont swim much either when up there, but they still do eat actively, and seem very excited when i approach them.

my pH did not drop a lot, from 7.6 to 6.8, and its steady at 6.8 now.

they are on... and they swim in areas with less light... maybe to avoid high light intensity? should i get some floating plants to cover some of the surface to reduce their stress with lighT?

I've noticed with my own Angels that they do have a habit of chilling out from time to time and always at the top corner where it's bit more shaded. Theys always seem to staring up at the surface too, maybe they're meditating

If they are not gasping for air and still eating and generally active I wouldn't worry too much.

consider my tank have a small amazon sword, 6 stems of cabomba, 6 stems of red temple, a small crypt, 5 apons, and a java fern, with the fish i have (my signature) is this enough plants to generate the oxygen my fish will need??

and do biowheels generate a lot of oxygen since its moving the water all the time?~?~?

Saw your other post about this. Not sure how your bio-wheels are set up, but sound like they are seperate to your main filter. Once the water is coming into contact with air then yes it will take in oxygen.

I would say the amount of plants you have are probably not producing a whole hell of lot of oxygen, but this depends on how well they are growing. The better a plant is growing and abosorbing food the more oxygen it produces. This is why you hear people talk about "pearling" in CO2 tanks, the plant is producing so much Oygen you can see the bubbles on the leaves.

The best way to judge if the fish have enough air is first thing in the morning before the lights go on. This is when the tank will have the least amount of oxygen after a night of BOTH fish and plants producing CO2.If the fish aren't gasping at the surface in the morning then everything should be fine. Then when the lights go on the plants revert back to oxygen production.

I wouldn't worry too much. I run a canister filter with the outlet under the water so the water doesn't even come into contact with air (except what little may or may not be in the canister) the tank is very heavily planted. Never seen a fish struggle for air and all are very active and healthy.
