I just discovered a new fish store in my town. The fish are great looking with a great price. 10 jumbo neon tetras for $10, 2in. cory cats for $3.49, almost 3 in. kribinsis for $4.99 and much more. I was dissappointed in the plant selection though. They only had 2 true aquatic plants, swords and anacharis(bought 2 bunches at $1.59 each). They also had a few draceana and green hedges, and palms. Why do they even want to sell these?

Some non aquatic plants will last in an aquarium for quite some time, and can be a unique look.. I don't like them myself, but to each their own.

If there are no other fishstores/pond stores near you for aquatic plants, perhaps put a 'Aquatic Plants Wanted ad in our Classifieds Section, also listing the state/town you are in. There are lots U.S. members on FP, maybe near you ! Failing that, you can find aquatic plants online, aquabid, or place an ad in your local paper.
Good luck

When people who aren't equipped to keep aquatic plants (and don't know it) buy true aquatics, they're dead in a week. When they buy terrarium plants, it may take months. So while the person who knows what he or she is doing certainly wants the true aquatics (because they'll live indefinitely, given appropriate conditions), the store owner has a reasonable wish to supply the less well-informed.

But, I think they should be labelled.
