While cyrpts will sometimes flower, like anubias they do so underwater. It sounds to me a lot like the flowering of an Aponongen Crispus. Is the the tip kind of a bullet shape with a white coloring ? If it is is the bullet tip slowly stretching out and becoming whiter with tiny flowers ? If it's like the above then I would say you have a Crispus rather then a Crypt. Any pics? There are many different types of aponogeton so yours may not look exactly like that. Mine send up stems regularly that split in half to have 2 sets of little flowers. I don't do anything special for them and sometimes I get so annoyed I chopped them all off. They're back in a few days. They've even grown up right under my penguin 330. Sometimes they grow out of the tank and on occasion they seed. You could move the plant to an area of less current if you wanted but otherwise I'd just leave it alone. It's probably quite happy right there if it's sending up flowers. |
