Pearlweed (Hemianthus Micranthemoides) is a nice very small stem plant, it tends to grow side ways rather then up.2wpg is a lttle tight but if tank is not too deep may work.

Bacopa Australis is another good choice, doesn't need as much light as Pearlweed, but higher light will keep it low and bushy, in lower light it will grow upwards so will need to be kept trimmed.

Almost all crypts would be perfect, but require a bit more patience. Stay small, almost zero maintenance, will eventually firm nice bushy lush groves , but this make take a month or so. Crypt. Willisii I think would be perfect, very pretty, dark red stems, grows quite fast for a crypt and forms a very bushy appearance once it gets established (it will probably do nothing for a month and then explode).

Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.

Ambulia is another option. Mine was growing fine 1.5 wpg except I didn't trim it appropriately and it sort of dwindled down to nothing (hint: trim from the bottom)

Do you mean asian ambulia, limnophila sessiliflora? If so, I've got some planted around a piece of wood in my tank, looks great. I think it can get quite tall though. Mine's only a few inches tall right now, I've got it in just over 2 wpg.

Crypt willisii's a good one too.
