	wild duckweed,
bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	i went to my upstate house, and in 1 of the 9 ponds i found it covered in duckweed, so i took around 3 pounds of it. it is in a cooler, and after looking at it, there are alot of bugs, and scuds. would it be safe to add some of the duckweed, to the tanks? and also what can i do to eat the bugs, will bettas work. \ or i was thinking of a hatch fish

The last time I tried to take something out of a pond I ended up with a tank full of interesting critters that multiplied way too fast. I eventually had to take the tank down. You might be able to clean a small amount and really 1 leaf of duckweed can turn into 3lbs in a very short amount of time. 1 leftover leaf in my 5g has turned into 10 little plants with several leaves in just a few weeks.
