Sorry, but this is a completely ridiculous question !

How can anyone possibly answer? You've provided no information of any meaning.

But I'll hazard a guess and say yes it will die. It won't kill your fish but may foul up the water.

My answer is not based on any information you provided but on the fact anything you cannot identify and put in a tank either has no real chance of survival or a high probability to do harm.

Depending on the LFS, it may most likely be a non-aquatic. I have noticed that the big chain stores like to sell off plants like Brazil swords and mondo grass as aquatic plants. If it's more of a mom and pop store, you may be safer by just getting it, but you can't know for sure unless it's ID'd.

Try to describe it, and hopefully some of us can help.

or, try this site... they have all most common (and uncommon) aquatic and non-aquatic plants.... The pictures can really help sometimes. http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_all_gallery.php

well... whats in your tank? substrates? light? fish? plants?

your question is kinda like this... "you know that one thing they sell at lfs.. would it be ok to put that one thing in this one tank?"
