![]() | 250w DE MH-- do i need a chiller? (coral tank) |
shaz![]() Hobbyist Posts: 57 Kudos: 48 Votes: 1 Registered: 31-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | I think I decided to get the 250w MH pendant instead of the 150w for my 29/30 gallon tall nano. I was wondering if I would need a chiller.... Does anyone here have a 30gallon or smaller with a 250w mh pendant, that does NOT have a chiller? here is a link the the specific pendant.. http://hellolights.com/ocli25hqiame.html I have air conditioning in my house for the hot summerdays, but I live in Michigan, so we get a cold winter. During the summer I dont want to just run my house's AC just for the sake of my nano. The reason why I want 250 instead of 150 so ba to I can get as much coral color and coral growth as possible ![]() Thanks in advance P.S. If anyone thinks the 150w would be a better choice instead of the 250w (I want to keep sps, lps, and clams) please let me know before its too late ![]() |

Im running five 250 watt DE bulbs over my 180 gallon, and have a hard time with temp in the summer....BUT I dont have AC either. From my experience, if the room temp stays 75* or below then I dont have any problems keeping my tank temp between 81-82*. |
