Since the heaters are on a lot now, I have a feeling that it still wont be a problem in the summer. |

I noticed that you have MH lighting and glass canopies on your main display, I'm curious as to how you keep the temperature from going to high. What's the normal range? -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |

shaz Hobbyist Posts: 57 Kudos: 48 Votes: 1 Registered: 31-Jul-2004 | yeah.. I think I will do snails, starfish, and pepermint shrimp. I added the salt and sand to my tank a couple days ago, now its time for the live rock! YAY lol |

bencoastie Enthusiast Posts: 167 Kudos: 85 Votes: 1 Registered: 24-Jul-2003 | Oh, most shrimps are good for picking stuff out of crevices in the live rock. Just be aware that if you have too many, they may stay out in the open and irritate your corals by standing on or near them. I sorta made that mistake too. |

bencoastie Enthusiast Posts: 167 Kudos: 85 Votes: 1 Registered: 24-Jul-2003 | I have read (I think on this website from DRO), and found in my own personal experience, that hermits are a little destructive to reef tanks. They cool and interesting little buggers, but have a bad tendency toward moving any small items in the tank to other locations. While this gives a more natural look, it has a tendency to be annoying when you are trying to get a new coral or tubeworm to stay in one spot long enough to adhere. You can get the same clean-up effect with brittle stars, cucumbers, assorted snails, and others as you can with hermits. Besides, red legged hermits (safe) look alot like spotted hermits (very bad ]:|). Just my input, but that is what this website is for, right? |

shaz Hobbyist Posts: 57 Kudos: 48 Votes: 1 Registered: 31-Jul-2004 | I will do a fishless cycle, the first thing that I will add will probably be a clean up crew, either snails or hermits, maybe some peppermint shrimp, and a starfish. After that I will add my first fish |

bencoastie Enthusiast Posts: 167 Kudos: 85 Votes: 1 Registered: 24-Jul-2003 | Are you gonna cycle with just LR or are you getting a fish to speed it up? I can't wait to see it when everything is in there! |
