Ordering corals online? | |
jkalfsbeck Enthusiast Posts: 193 Kudos: 132 Votes: 0 Registered: 19-Dec-2002 | Just curious what everyone's experience is w/ ordering any type of corals online. I'm thinking bout doing it w/ liveaquaria. Just wondering how safe it is to ship them and if they give you dull colors or poor quality corals or if they give you a very small amount of corals. Just curious b/c i'm thinking about giving it a shot b/c of the price. Thanks. |

Some online stores are like buy what you see, meaning you get exactly what is in the photo so you know exactly how it looks. Liveaquaria just has like 'file photos' of corals. Id order fish from them if they had something I wanted, but I would prefer to order corals from a more speciality store. Shipping them now may be a bit harder because it is winter, but I would think they take necessary percautions with heat packs and such. If any coral doesn't make it, there is no reason you shouldnt get credit for it. |

I have also ordered from Adam at Cquarium.com and his corals are excellent also...with great shipping/packaging. Reefscience.com is a fairly newcomer, but from talking to people they are also excellent. Im getting ready to place an order from them here shortly. |

Luckily enough though, I live only 2 hours away, and drive up there every couple of months. He does have some awsome corals at great prices. Personally I give him a 10/10! There is always a bigger fish... |
